Old Town Grilling

Outdoor grilling is especially popular this time of year. It always draws crowds when it happens on Old Town Square (Staroměstské náměstí). The first two pictures are from last Monday when there was a celebration for the Czech team winning the 2010 Hockey World Championship.

The sausage stands on Wenceslas Square (Václavské náměstí) are still a draw for a quick bite. The two stands at the bottom of the square are the busiest.

Hi wissy,

No, you are not out of touch. In 2007, Prague City Hall decided to remove all the sausage stands on Wenceslas Square. There were protests and in 2008 the City Hall backtracked and chose to remove only some of the sausage stands and to reduce the hours of the ones remaining.

I have linked to a few articles in case you or anyone else is interested in reading more.

Sorry, the links are not showing up. I think it is a problem with our Wordpress theme. Will try to get it fixed soon.
